Position Overview
The College Success Advisor & Alumni Engagement Coordinator works within the Upper School (grades 7-12) as part of the Student Services team, reporting to the Upper School Student Services Coordinator. This position supports college transition and alumni outreach, and leads college-readiness initiatives—including direct instructional support in Junior and Senior seminar classes. The Adviser manages the alumni database and develops content that advances college awareness and celebrates alumni success. Travel responsibilities not to exceed 8% of workdays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized college advising and alumni support for Upper School students and graduates.
  • Collaborate with Student Services on programming that meets diverse student needs in grades 7-12.
  • Plan and coordinate on-campus college representative visits and college fairs.
  • Organize and supervise college campus visits and student trips (travel not to exceed 8% of workdays).
  • Deliver supporting instruction in Junior and Senior seminar classes, covering topics like college application, transition strategies, persistence skills, and financial literacy.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans and seminar activities promoting college readiness, self-management, and career exploration.
  • Manage and maintain the alumni database, ensuring data accuracy, regular updates, secure storage, and segmented outreach.
  • Produce content for newsletters, websites, and social media highlighting college awareness activities, college application results, and alumni spotlights or testimonials.
  • Engage alumni through coordinated outreach, events, advisory groups, and professional development opportunities.
  • Track and report on college enrollment, persistence, and alumni outcomes to the Student Services Coordinator.
  • Coordinate communication channels for college-bound students and alumni.
  • Work with faculty and administration to ensure smooth transitions for graduating seniors.
  • Manage other duties as assigned by the Upper School Student Services Coordinator.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
  • Experience in academic advising, college access, seminar instruction, alumni relations, or database management in grades 7-12.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, database, and content creation skills.
  • Commitment to college readiness and school mission.

Reporting Structure
Reports to the Upper School Student Services Coordinator and Upper School Director.
 
Compensation
Comparable to the OPS Teacher compensation 
10 months of employment 
Funded By Federal Title I/IV Funds (75%)
